Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Member of Parliament of Samagi Jana Balawega, has deposited security money to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
After the presidential election was officially announced, Mr. Sarath Fonseka was the first to make a public statement that he would appear as a candidate in the presidential race.
However, in the recent past, it was evident from the statements of both parties that there were some rifts and disagreements between Mr. Sarath Fonseka and Samagi Jana Balawega.
