Monitoring organizations including the PAFFREL organization have requested the Election Commission to announce the presidential election as soon as possible.
The power to announce the presidential election was transferred to the Election Commission yesterday (16) after midnight.
The Election Commission stated that the presidential election is expected to be announced before the end of this month.
The Institute for Democratic Reforms and Electoral Studies said that due to the Electoral Commission’s delay in announcing the date of the presidential election, government ministries are being pressured to carry out various tasks for the promotion of candidates by crediting money through the President’s Office.
