Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna leader Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake said yesterday (06) that he will not enter into another debate with opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa.
Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who came to the Thulawa political dialogue broadcast by the Independent Television Network, emphasized this.
Those institutions had arranged to set aside June 6 for the debate between Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Mr. Sajith Premadasa. However, Mr. Sajith Premadasa did not attend this debate, stressing that the debate was not organized as he had agreed.
Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa told Newswave that if the leadership debate and the economic debate were held at the same time, there would be no obstacle to the debate.
Accordingly, a Sajith-Anura debate will not be held until the next presidential election.
