    The special bus service boosts the daily revenue of SLTB

    Sri Lanka Transport Board says that its daily income has increased by around 25 million rupees due to the bus service implemented for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year’s season.

    For the people going to the villages during the festival season, the board started a special transportation service by adding about 200 additional buses to run from the last 5th.

    The Deputy General Manager of Sri Lanka Transport Board Mr. Panduka Swarnahansa stated that by now, his daily income has increased by 25 million rupees.

    However, the passengers had complained that they were inconvenienced when they arrived at Bastian Mawatha, Pettah, and Central Bus Stations due to the lack of sufficient long-distance service buses.

    Responding to that, the Deputy General Manager of Sri Lanka Transport Board Mr. Panduka Swarnahansa said that he rejects the allegations that there are not enough buses.

    Meanwhile, the Road Development Authority said that the revenue of highways has increased by 10 percent yesterday.

    A spokesman said that between today and the 15th, the revenue of the highways is expected to be significantly higher.

    Meanwhile, apart from the regular long-distance train services on the main line, 12 additional trains have been added from last 10th to April 15th.

    Accordingly, the trains will operate as 02 trains to Badulla, 02 trains from Badulla to Colombo, 02 trains to Galle, 02 trains from Galle to Colombo, 02 trains to Beliaatta and 02 trains from Beliaatta to Colombo.
