Cabinet approval was received for the Electricity Sector Reform Bill yesterday.
Electricity and Energy Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera said that approval was also given to gazette the revised version of the new electricity sector bill and submit it to Parliament for approval.
The Bill is to be gazetted this week for submission to Parliament in the last week of April.
The public will have a period of 2 weeks from the date of its submission to Parliament to challenge the Bill.
