State Minister of Finance Mr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the Rs. 10,000 salary increment to the government employees as mentioned in the budget proposals will be added to the salary from next month.
He also said that after paying the salaries of all government employees in March, April’s salary is also ready to be paid before the 10th of that month.
Speaking further, the minister said that 28 lakh low-income families will be given 10 kilos of rice each in April and another 10 kilos of rice in May.
According to the Minister, the 10 kg rice allocation for the month of April will be distributed before the 10th of the month. This program aims to provide assistance to individuals with low-income and to encourage farmers to increase their paddy production.
Also, the minister mentioned that the increased amount of Rs. 2,500 will be given from April for the pensioners.
The minister stated this yesterday (25) while speaking to the media in the Ruwanwella area.
