Mr. TCA Dhanapala, who is the head of the Special Branch Range, the foremost intelligence unit of the police, has been promoted to the position of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police.
This appointment has been made to fill the vacancy of a Senior Deputy Inspector General after Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon became the Inspector General of Police.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that this appointment was made with the approval of the National Police Commission.
This appointment has been given with effect from February 29.
