The government has decided to amend the recently passed new Online Security Act.
This decision was approved in yesterday’s cabinet meeting.
As the Parliament has passed the Online Security Act, the provisions of the Act are currently in force.
The bill should have been amended in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision.
Therefore, the government points out that it has not been possible to introduce the amendment proposals presented by the experts in the said bill.
Due to this, the government has decided to amend the Online Security Act based on further discussions with experts in the field who had submitted relevant amendments and suggestions.
Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Public Security to advise a draftsman to prepare a bill.
