Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Bandula Gunawardena says that the current land prices in Sri Lanka will drop rapidly in the future.
He points out that the land price in Colombo is higher than the land prices of the cities in a developed country in the world.
The minister also said that various surveys have been conducted about it.
However, he also emphasized that the rent of buildings and houses has decreased by now.
Addressing the press conference held today to announce the cabinet decisions, he says that the rupee has strengthened during the present and it is expected that the US dollar will fall to 280 rupees in the future.
