The police have arrested three minor staff including a woman who allegedly assaulted the specialist in charge of the cancer ward of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
That is according to a complaint made by the relevant specialist who is currently in prison.
The arrested suspects are residents of Galle, Kottavagama, and Diyalape, Akurassa.
A dispute had arisen between the doctor and the junior staff due to the participation of the employees of the cancer ward in the health strike held on the 16th by 72 health unions.
There it was reported that the specialist doctor assaulted a worker and a maid.
Accordingly, the court ordered the arrested doctor to be remanded until tomorrow.
