Electricity and Energy Minister Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera says that the proposal to reduce the electricity bill will be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission next week.
Also, the Minister has given an order to the CEB authorities regarding the protest currently being carried out by the Electricity Board employees in front of the Colombo head office.
Accordingly, the Minister said that any employee who interferes with the services provided by the Ceylon Electricity Board or acts in violation of the guidelines issued by the management is suspended and the management is advised to take appropriate disciplinary measures.
The Minister also said that the proposed reforms of the Ceylon Electricity Board will be submitted to Parliament with amendments for approval.
