The Kelaniya University informs that four students have been suspended for assaulting a university security officer.
This move was triggered by an incident where a security officer working in the security department of the University of Kelaniya was abducted while he was sleeping in the restroom, held, beaten and tied to the entrance gate of the student centre.
In order to restore peace between the non-academic staff and students, the administration of Kelaniya University had taken steps to close all other faculties except the Faculty of Medicine until further notice.
