A special Commodity Levy has been imposed on many products effective from today (Dec 01).
As the Minister of Finance, President Ranil Wickramasinghe has also issued the relevant gazette announcement.
These items include butter, dates, grapes (fresh and dried), apples, fish, curds and onions.
Levy on Yoghurt and Tuna, Skipjack Tunas, and Bonito (Sarda species) are the same as the previous.
This tax imposed on the following goods will be effective till December 31, 2024.
