The “Ride with Pride” friendship bike ride, which started on the 29th from Point Dondra, ended yesterday (03) at Point Pedro, Jaffna.
Major General Sumith Balasuriya (retd), Major General Sumith Premalal (retd) and Colonel Pradeep Perera (retd) participated in this cycle ride which was held to further strengthen the bond of North-South friendship.
This cycle ride consisted of a distance of 582 km.
Members of the Sri Lanka Army Cycling Association as well as many retired war heroes encouraged them by participating in the cycling ride at each destination at the regional level.
This is the first time that a group of retired army officers engaged in such a long cycle ride. Also, it was the first time that the message of friendship was carried from the south to the north by such a cycling tour.
