The officers of the Financial Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a Ukrainian woman who hacked into the internet banking facility of a leading private commercial-grade bank in the country and stole an amount of 13,765,000 rupees.
This 33-year-old woman came on a tourist visa and committed this crime.
The woman was arrested yesterday following an investigation based on a complaint made by the concerned bank in this regard.
Certainly makes one wonder how good bank software security is if a loan person can hack the banks system a lot more can be done.
Personal information, client funds and more perhaps the bank was not prepared to pay for better software.
