A Rambukkana police sergeant, who is said to have sneaked into a house while on night duty and sexually assaulted a woman, was tied up by the residents and handed over to the police.
This officer entered a house in Rambukkana Parape Ulagama in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted a 60-year-old woman.
This incident happened yesterday early morning. Investigations have revealed that this officer sneaked into this house while on duty in the police vehicle.
The police said that when this police sergeant sneaked into a room through a window and went to molest the woman who was sleeping there, the rest of the house woke up to the sound of her screams.
Accordingly, the Rambukkana Police arrived, arrested this officer, and presented him to the Kegalle Magistrate’s Court. This officer has been remanded until August 3.
