China claims that the double standard against terrorism followed by some parties should be ended. China’s representative to the United Nations, Mr. Chang Jun, said this while joining the debate on global anti-terrorist strategies called by the UN General Assembly on the 23rd.
Terrorism is a contemporary challenge that poses a serious threat to international peace and security. China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. Chang Jun, said that there is an urgent need to strengthen international counter-terrorism cooperation in view of the complex and serious situation in the fight against terrorism.
Terrorism can never be separated into good and bad. Some countries seem to focus only on fighting terrorist organizations that threaten them, while ignoring the activities of terrorists who harm other countries. Also, they try to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. Mr. Chang Jun emphasized that this kind of double standard should not be followed in combating terrorism.
