According to the Government Family Health Services Association, the provision of triposha to children under 3 years of age has been stalled for over a year.
Mrs. Devika Kodithuvakku, its president, said that this is causing serious problems regarding the nutritional status of children.
She also emphasized that the authorities should take immediate action against the backdrop of the rising malnutrition situation.
In an inquiry regarding this, the Chairman of Triposha Company Mr. Deepthi Kularatne stated that due to a problem of the percentage of aflatoxin contained in maize, it has not been possible to produce Triposha for small children.
He also mentioned that the problem has been requested to be solved in accordance with the specifications of the World Health Organization.
Its a pity that the govt. Has not taken any action to rectify this problem, and even though its mentioned on the news, no one has given an answer for this from any ministry. Its a real shame on this govt. Indeed.
