Minister of State for Finance Mr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya said today (08) in the Parliament that tax files are being opened for all members of Parliament.
He also said that he will bring a proposal that all those entering politics should start a tax file in addition to their assets and liabilities.
In addition to this, Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that the members entering the ministerial staff should also open their tax files.
The Minister said this while joining the debate on the Betting and Gambling Tax Amendment Bill.
The Minister of State said that after January of next year, a tax file will be introduced for all those above the age of 18 years, and pointed out that this does not mean taking tax from everyone.
He mentioned that the government gives money to the people through those files.
