A university student was arrested for flying drones near the President’s air defense system

Bambalapitiya Police yesterday arrested a student of a private university following a notification from the Air Force, who flew a drone camera near a building where the Presidential Air Defense System is located.

A senior police officer said that the air force officers working in the President’s air defense division immediately alerted the Bambalapitiya police and accordingly arrested him.

A 22-year-old resident of Norochcholai has been arrested and is studying in a private university in Kollupitiya.
The suspected student has told the police that the drone camera was flown to a restaurant near the Bambalapitiya railway station to celebrate the anniversary. The police say that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted in this regard. The reason for this is that he does not have a license to fly or possess these drones.
