State Minister for Finance Mr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the interest-free loan given by the government to five thousand children for their higher education in private universities will be resumed from next week.
The minister mentions that the related cabinet paper will be submitted to the cabinet this week.
Under this, students will be entitled to an interest-free loan of 9 lakh rupees and will be entitled to a grace period of two years to repay it.
The minister mentioned that since education is the best investment in a country, the government gives priority to education even in difficult times.
The minister expressed these views while joining the recently held color awarding ceremony at Ruwanwella Rajasinghe College.
