The government and police are looking for people who make insults on religions

Buddhasasana Minister Vidura Wickramanayake says that a new act will be brought against distortion of all religious freedoms and facts.

The minister points out that the police have jointly started a special investigation on people who make statements that insult religions.

Minister Vidura Wickramanayake said that the arrest of Natasha Edirisuriya, who recently made a statement offensive to Buddhism, was carried out with the direct intervention of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.

Mr. Vidura Wickramanayake, Minister of Buddhasasana, further commented,

“Regarding these ongoing actions, we have used a program in conjunction with the police to prevent them. I saw somewhere that it was said that the Buddhasasana Ministry is sleeping. No, the Buddhasasana Ministry is awake 24 hours a day. That is why measures were taken within hours against it as soon as these kinds of things were released on the Internet.
