The Federation of University Teachers Association points out that there is a shortage of nearly 450 lecturers in Kelaniya, Peradeniya and Rajarata Universities.
Its spokesperson, Senior Lecturer Mr. Charudattha Ilangasinghe, stated that the problem has been raised since university lecturers left the service.
Meanwhile, the Federation of University Teachers’ Unions says that a discussion will be held with the President on the 18th.
Mr. Ilangasinghe further mentioned that he expects to present his problems to the President.
