As of today (04), 7,160 Dansals have been registered in the Ministry of Health across Sri Lanka on the occasion of Vesak festival.
All registered and unregistered dansals will be inspected before holding them and advice and recommendations will also be given and public health inspectors have been deployed to inspect these dansals on the day of Vesak Poya and the next day to find out whether the food is prepared in a manner suitable for consumption.
The Chairman of Public Health Inspectors Association, Mr. Upul Rohana said that more than 3000 public health inspectors are inspecting these dansals under the supervision and instructions of the 362 medical officers covering all health medical officer divisions.
He further said that the organizers of dansals should be especially careful in procuring water, food ingredients, vegetables etc.
