The Minister of Buddhist Affairs, Religious and Cultural Affairs Mr. Vidura Wickramanayake said that the 2023 National Vesak festival will be held on the 4th and 5th of next two days with Puttalam district.
The minister said that the state ceremony will be held at Halawatha Madampe Kabellawala Sri Rathanashili Piriven Viharasthanaya in Puttalam district under the chairmanship of the President.
Along with that, a Vesak week will be in effect from 02nd to 08th, he said.
The minister mentioned that the Vesak festival should be celebrated realistically and meaningfully, keeping simplicity and elegance in mind.
