Nilantha Kumara Ranasinghe, the chairman of Janasetha Peramuna, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting and threatening a group of people who were cleaning the building in Pothuhera, Arambepola, to establish a Japanese vocational training and language center.
Pothuhera Police say that he was arrested after he surrendered to the police yesterday with a lawyer.
This attack was carried out on the night of the last 08th. The police say that he broke into the building with another group and assaulted the owner and others.
The suspect was produced before the Polgahawela Magistrate’s Court today and has been remanded until the 27th.
