The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that the water bill payments by consumers have decreased to 40%.
The board noted that outstanding bills of Rs. 8,400 million have to be paid by water consumers.
Out of which Rs. 6200 million have to be paid by the domestic water consumers.
The water supply board said that due to non-payment of bills, the board has faced severe hurdles to continuing its production process.
Meanwhile, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said that they are currently preparing a proposal regarding the increase of the water bill with the increase of the electricity bill again.
