People’s Action for Free and Fair Election (or PAFFREL) has asked the Election Commission what measures have been taken against the government institutions and their officials who obstructed the local government elections and did not support them.
The PAFFREL organization has sent a letter to the Election Commission requesting that if no action has been taken against the government institutions and officials, what action will be taken against them in the future.
It is stated in the letter sent to the Election Commission by Mr. Rohana Hettiarachchi, the executive director of PAFFREL, that the local government elections were not supported by officials such as the Ministry of Finance, the Police, the Government Press, the Petroleum Corporation, and the Ministry of Public Administration.
