US President Joe Biden has named Julie Chung as the next US Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
The White House announced this yesterday (15).
She is a senior member of the Foreign Service. She currently serves as the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Western Regional Affairs at the US State Department.
She has also served as the Director of the Office of Japanese Affairs at the US State Department and has previously held various positions at embassies in several countries.
Julie holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California and a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.
