The Benthota police have arrested a monk living in the Wanawasa Rajamaha temple in Yatramulla, Benthota, on suspicion of stealing a Unicorn horn, 03 Vijinipath bundles carved from elephant tusks and other artifacts from that temple.
It is said that these artifacts were in the temple for many years.
The police stated that during the questioning of the arrested monk, it was revealed that these items were stolen to be sold later.
