The Siripagama Police have started an investigation into a case where a lover, who got angry for ending an extramarital affair, broke into his girlfriend’s house, raped her, and attacked her with acid.
A 44-year-old mother of three, a resident of Gilimale, Iduruwa area, was injured in the acid attack.
The woman’s husband is a retired army soldier. The extramarital husband is unmarried. Police say that he is a tea leaf collector by profession.
It is said that there was an affair between the two for 04 years. As her husband became aware of this extramarital relationship, she was afraid of it and has stopped the extramarital relationship. The police said that the suspect, who was upset about it, ran into the house, raped her, and threw acid on her when her lawful husband was not at home.
