President Ranil Wickramasinghe instructed the officials to take the necessary steps to buy a kilo of paddy from the government at a guaranteed price of Rs. 100.00.
The President also said that the Northern Province and Jaffna District will be developed as a province that can supply Sri Lanka with food.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe mentioned this while attending the harvest event in the Northern Province held at Paranthan paddy Field in Jaffna this morning (12).
The President visited the Paranthan paddy field and inquired about the problems related to paddy cultivation from the farmers there and said that immediate solutions will be provided to those problems.
