A two-day debate will be held tomorrow (9) and the day after tomorrow (10) regarding the government’s policy statement presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the opening of the fourth session of the Ninth Parliament.
This debate is being held according to a decision taken by the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs at its recent meeting.
However, it is reported that the MPs of the Samagi Jana Balawega party have decided not to participate in this debate.
The Parliament will meet at 9.30 am and 51 motions that were actually presented in the last session related to the orders under the Welfare Benefits Act and the annual reports of various government statutory bodies will be presented for approval in the morning.
Then the adjournment debate on the government policy statement presented by the President will be held until 5.00 pm.
The adjournment debate on the government’s policy statement will be held on the second day from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm on the day after tomorrow (10th) Friday.
