Sri Lanka Freedom Party Publicity Secretary Mr. Thisara Gunasinghe told NewsWave that The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has decided to contest alone in 17 electoral districts.
According to this, the Sri Lankan National Party is going to contest in some places from the rest of the constituencies using the hand sign as well, he said.
He said that the vast majority of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Political Committee, which met under the chairmanship of Sri Lanka Freedom Party Chairman and 6th Executive President Maithripala Sirisena, reached this decision.
In this regard, the SLFP media unit also issued a statement this afternoon. According to it, the majority of the districts will be contested under the hand symbol. Accordingly, the candidates will have the opportunity to contest for all the local government bodies from Sri Lanka.
It is stated in the relevant announcement that the Freedom People’s Alliance will contest under the helicopter only for a specific local government body on the agreement of some district and party leaders.
