Sri Lanka is in the final stages of obtaining the creditor’s certificate

State Minister of Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe says that Sri Lanka is currently in the final stage of receiving the certificate from the official creditors.

He is confident that the government expects the approval of the board of directors of the International Monetary Fund in the first quarter of this year.

“We are in the final stages of getting the assurance from the official creditors. The International Monetary Fund is carrying out a pioneering mission to restore the economy of this country. This support has been given not only to this country but to many other countries. We have taken all necessary measures to obtain the approval of the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund.

We are confident that we will be able to get the board’s approval during the first quarter of this year. We have solved many things for that. Attention should be paid to the identified problems. In particular, we have dealt with financial management.

We are currently in the final stages of obtaining financial assurances from our bilateral creditors. Accordingly, it has been ensured that necessary steps have been taken to stabilize the economy.” The Minister of State further stated here.

The Minister of State mentioned this while addressing the journalists after a meeting held in the Anuradhapura area.
