Trade Minister Naleen Fernando says that he hopes to discuss the measures that can be taken to control the price of eggs at the cabinet meeting tomorrow (02) and reach a final agreement.
The minister further stated that he hopes to pay attention to the importation of eggs.
Demands are being made to the government from the bakery owners as well as the people to import eggs to control the rapidly rising egg prices.
After the Court of Appeal temporarily suspended the egg price control gazette, the price of eggs started to rise and today an egg is sold at various prices starting from Rs.62 and above.
