A hand grenade in a polythene bag was found hanging from a tree in Bambalapitiya.
The bomb was first seen yesterday by an employee of a private company cleaning the roads.
According to the employee’s notification to the Bambalapitiya Police, a police team came there and took the bomb into their custody.
The bomb was found in a tree near Bus Stand 154 on Bauddaloka Road between Galle road and Duplication Road.
The police say that someone may have brought this bomb to this place and hung it like this and they suspect that this is an act of sabotage.
The police say that they will check the security cameras in the nearby business places to identify the person who brought the bomb to this place.
