The new draft prepared by adding new amendments to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Act has received the approval of the Cabinet.
It was approved in yesterday’s meeting and it was presented by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Minister of Economic Stabilization and National Policy.
The new draft has been improved by introducing new amendments to the original bill so as to be able to perform the work of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka more efficiently and effectively to suit the current requirements.
In the Cabinet meeting held on 29.10.2019, approval has been given for the preparation of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Bill.
Accordingly, the draft Central Bank of Sri Lanka Bill has been published in the Government Gazette on 01.11.2019.
Although it has been submitted to Parliament for approval, it has not been included in the order book.
Accordingly, the bill prepared by the draftsman was submitted to the Cabinet, and approval was given for the said bill.
