A team of embassy officials including the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr. Paul Stephens has recently observed the activities and operations of the Hambantota International Port.
The High Commissioner paid special attention to the overall progress of the Hambantota port as well as the projects that are currently in operation as well as the projects to be implemented in the future.
Here, the High Commissioner has also discussed with the Chief Operating Officer of Hambantota Port Mr. Tissa Wickramasinghe about the development of the port and future business plans.
It is also special that the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr. Paul Stephens visited the Hambantota port during his first visit to the Southern province. Almost every place in the port has been observed by the High Commissioner during this visit.
Australian High Commission’s First Secretary (Political) Shannon Murney, Research and Information Officer Trivan Annakkarage, Diplomatic Officer Kathya Senevirathne have participated in this event with the High Commissioner.
