The court has today (06) ordered the release of inter-university monk convenor Reverend Galwewa Siridhamma Thera and inter-university student convenor Wasantha Mudalige on two personal bails of Rs. 100,00 each.
That is after they were presented to the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (06).
Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, Wasantha Mudalige and Reverend Galwewa Siridhamma Thero were detained for 89 days.
They were brought before the court on November 17th.
On November 23rd, Reverend Galvewa Siridhamma Thero was granted bail by the Additional Magistrate of Colombo and then presented to the Kaduwela Magistrate Court for another case.
It is related to allegations of riotous behaviour, obstructing the duty of police officers and damaging government properties while holding a protest in front of the Ministry of Education last May.
