A group of officers from the Katukarunda camp of the Police Special Task Force has arrested a tuition class teacher who has been distributing drugs to school children for a long time.
This suspect is a person who conducts tuition classes related to mathematics and science subjects for grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. He lives with his wife and two children in a rented house near a main school in Kalutara.
It has been revealed that the suspect, who is a resident of the Mawanella area, has been selling these drugs for a long time targeting the children of the school near his residence.
The suspect has been handed over to the Kalutara South Police Station along with the drug stock for further investigation.
The Special Task Force states that 1299 capsules of doping drugs were found in his possession.
This raid is done according to the information received by the officers of the Special Task Force Katukurunda Training School, under the supervision and direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Atula Ratnayake, under the order of the Special Task Force Commanding Officer, DIG, Advocate Mr. Varuna Jayasundara, a team of officers including Chief Police Inspector Chamila Marapana of the Special Task Force Katukurunda Training School.
