A transfer to the official who rejected to sign the documents to import substandard glucometers

An assistant director of the Ministry of Health, who allegedly refused to sign the documents of a tender to buy a stock of substandard glucometers for Rs. 380 million, has reportedly been transferred to another department.

The Ministry of Health is hastily working to buy a stock of non-standard glucometers from an Indian company outside of the prescribed tender procedure and the relevant officer has been transferred to another department for not signing the documents and not giving approval and it is also reported that the health officials are working to get another officer assigned and sign the necessary documents instead.

It is said that three senior officials belonging to the health department are trying to execute this corrupt tender together and for that, they have the support of the health authorities.

Sources of the Ministry of Health also said that serious doubts have been raised through the deal to suddenly get a stock of glucometers at a higher price, despite the agreement to supply a stock of glucometers at a reasonable price in January through an open tender.
