Mr. Chandana Lokuliyana, Director of the Fertilizer Secretariat, stated that a ship of urea fertilizer will reach the country next week.
The ship contains 22,000 metric tons of urea, brought from Malaysia.
He said that the fertilizer is to be distributed to the farmers for paddy cultivation in the Maha season.
Earlier, 13,000 metric tons of urea has been brought to Sri Lanka.
