The Deputy Director General (Medical Services) of the Ministry of Health Mr. Wijesuriya said that several investigations have been started in relation to the alleged death of a Ja Ela girl after a surgery in a private hospital in the Wattala area.
Mr. Wijesuriya also said that the doctor who performed the surgery was prohibited from performing the surgery until the investigation is completed.
Mr. Wijesuriya also mentioned that separate investigations will be conducted on the way the surgery was performed on the deceased girl, the treatment method given to her and the private hospital.
A girl resident of Ja Ela died recently after an abdominal surgery at a private hospital in Wattala, and the doctor who performed the surgery on her has been charged.
