Number of trains decreases when people over the age of 60 retires

The Railway Department has said that due to the mandatory retirement of public service officers at the age of 60, a large number of people in the Railway Department are going to retire and the existing employee vacancies will increase greatly.

The Department of Railways has pointed out that even if new recruits are made, it will take 7 years or so to train them for the main positions, so this situation will cause problems in running the railway services for some time.

Due to this, many train journeys will have to be canceled in the future, the railway department said.

In the Railway Department, about 50% of the operational staff and technical staff like Trained Staff Employees and Controller Shunters, Cabinmen are going to retire.

The department points out that train cancellations are still happening due to the lack of regulators.

The department states that even now the railway service is being run with a huge shortage of operational staff.

The department also claims that due to the mandatory retirement age limit, the vacancies will double in the future, so the existing trains will have to be restricted.

The Railway Department also mentions that it takes 7 years for a Railway Controller to serve as a Chief Controller.
