The first permit for the import of electric vehicles, which is given to foreign workers when they legally send dollars to Sri Lanka through the banking system, has been issued today.
This first vehicle was brought by a Sri Lankan who is currently working abroad.
According to the Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara, this license was granted to his authorized representative in Sri Lanka.
The minister mentioned that a special demand for electric vehicle licenses is currently being created and many foreign workers are continuously making inquiries about this.

Mr. R. P. A. Wimalaweera, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Foreign Employment also joined this event.
