    A young man who protested against the President in France was arrested

    A young man who organized a protest in France against President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the government has been arrested by the Nittambuwa Police when he returned from France to his home in Ranpokunagama.

    The police say he was arrested on May 9 as a suspect in connection with an attack on two houses including a house of a local councillor, setting fire to a cab and attacking a bus.

    The police say that they have CCTV footage showing how this person is carrying out and directing the attacks.

    The family of this young man are said to be in France. At the time of the incident on May 9, he was in the country. The police say that on May 09, he wrote the numbers of the returning buses in large numbers on cardboard and displayed them in Nittambuwa town, provoking the people and inciting them to stop and attack those buses of the people who came to participate in a meeting at Temple Trees Mansion. The police say that the investigation revealed that some person had sent those numbers to his mobile phone and he had written them down and displayed them.

    The police also mention that this suspect had become a prominent figure in the struggle area.

    He had gone to France and returned to this country yesterday. The arrest took place according to information received by the police when he arrived at his house in Ranpokunagama from Katunayake airport.
