A payment card is issued for buses running on the highway from Makumbura to Galle.
It has been introduced today under the chairmanship of the Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardena.
The National Transport Commission (NTC) has launched this today (19) under the pilot project of using an electronic card instead of bus tickets under the ‘E-ticketing concept’.
The Chairman of the National Transport Commission, Commander (Retired) Nilan Miranda said that this pilot project will be implemented on buses travelling from the Kottawa Makumbura Multipurpose Center to Galle along the Southern Expressway.
The touch travel card system software is ready to be included in the pilot project, which will allow the authorities to test the system and detect errors.
