    Yupun won Bronze in 100m final at Commonwealth Games

    Sri Lankan athlete Yupun Abeykon won the bronze medal in the 100m race at the Commonwealth Games this morning.

    The time taken for him to finish the race was 10.1.4 seconds.

    He made history as the first Sri Lankan athlete to win a medal in the 100m race at a Commonwealth Games.

    He also became the first Asian athlete to win a medal in the 100m event at a Commonwealth Games.

    Yupun Abeykon holds the South Asian record in that event.

    Commenting on his victory, Yupun Abeykoon has stated that this is only the beginning of many future victories.

    Saying that he will continue to dedicate himself for those achievements, Yupun Abeykon has expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him.

    Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala won the Commonwealth 100m gold medal.

    South Africa’s Makhani Simbani won the silver medal.
