Cabinet Spokesman Mr. Bandula Gunawardena says that former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is not in hiding and he is expected to come to Sri Lanka from Singapore.
He stated that in the cabinet decision notification meeting held today (26).
At the press conference, a journalist asked about the complaint filed with the Attorney General of Singapore to arrest former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the truth of the reports that he will return to Sri Lanka in the coming month of August.
In response to that question, the minister said that the former president had obtained an official visa and went to Singapore, and it was not a journey to seek refuge in any way as some reports have suggested.
The minister also said that the government has not been informed about the travel plans or the specific dates of his return regarding the political aspect of the former president.
